Our Bedroom:
Here it is! It's still not done but I think it's looking pretty good
(wait until you see the before shots)
....Sher made our bed! The star of the room.
Believe it or not, it was only our 4th project!
Made with only a table saw, miter saw, router and baby sized drill press.
...Now Sher's shop has many more tools than that!
We love the little painting that hangs above our headboard... I painted that one last year sometime...and Sher's always loved it.
Finally!....the curtains are done and hanging! :0)
(With homemade curtain hardware, explained later in the post)
Here's the view as you walk in... The chair and a half at the foot of our bed is not the prettiest thing but it's so COMFY!! I can't seem to get rid of it- every time it's almost out the door, we sit on it and decide against it ha ha.
Sher also made our side tables but now I want something different (plugs in halo)
Like this:
On one side of our bedroom we have this beautiful bookcase Sher made, it's actually a twin.
The twin lives in my soon-to-be art room.
We LOVE having a mini library in our room so we don't have to go searching around the house for our favorite books!
I can't express just how much I love these bookcases, they are soooo pretty!!
In the opposite corner of the room from the bed is another little spot to relax and read.
The painting was done by me earlier this year.
I saw the original at a store and decided to give it a try!
It didn't turn out too bad I think, and it's patiently waiting for it's frame to be made..
The little side table, stool and dresser (you can only see the corner lol) were also all made by Sher!
Here are the Before and After pics:

Isn't it lovely?? ha ha..yikes...

BEFORE & AFTER
We are really loving our bedroom right now! The curtains made such a huge difference! It went from gloomy and cold to warm and cozy.
We painted the walls with KILZ (love it) it's a primer and paint in one.
Color: Beige glow
I got all the curtain fabric for 35.99 (12 yrds) +27.00 for lining!
Bought new white sheets and had all the other stuff already!
We still have to install our bedside swing arm lamps but they are still packed away!
Every room in the house is always a work in progress though because I love changing things up.
HERE'S HOW TO
MAKE CURTAIN HARDWARE:
Curtain hardware can get expensive, so I did one of my favorite things to do. I went to the hardware store to see what I could re-purpose.
Here's what I came up with:
An "L" bracket + a screw and nut + a one hole strap =
Something to hold the curtain poles up with! LOL
Everything comes in 1/2" or 3/4", I chose 3/4"
Then a trip to Ross, where I picked up a bunch of curtain rings. They were all mismatched in color but that's no problem!
Curtain poles: (THIS IS MY FAVORITE PART!)
At the hardware store you can buy conduit in 10 foot lengths.
It comes in 1/2" or 3/4"...
One 10 foot 3/4" pole costs a little over $3.00!
MUCH MUCH CHEAPER than buying ready made poles!
(Genius I tell you! Love Hardware stores)
So..I lined everything up outside and gave it all a nice coat of black spray paint, then a coat of spray lacquer for durability.
Voila!
I still need to attach some knobs or something to the ends as finials, but I just haven't found any that I like yet. ..
I apologize for any crooked pics, but I think I might have a crooked neck ha ha jk.
Thanks for stopping by!
